The best thing about marijuana cuttings is that they root fairly quickly. Of course, it is important to keep them in good condition and make sure that they are correctly prepared. The thing is, the ability of a plant to maintain water is fairly limited until that plant begins to form roots. You want to make sure that you avoid a water shortage, which could cause your plants to drop dead. To do so, you need to trim your plants well.

Even though this process can be done with hands, one of the best ways to root your cuttings is with a rooting machine. Also, while water is appropriate for cloning a single plant or a few plants, you should be using oasis cubes, Rockwool, plant mix, or some other type of sterile soil if you are making a bigger crop.

The best way to make sure that your conditions remain sterile is by boosting the water’s oxygen level. More oxygen encourages better rooting. The solution should use five parts water and one part hydrogen peroxide.

In terms of light, it is recommended that you give your cutting 10 watts of cold, white fluorescent light for every square foot. Your clones should also be kept in a humid environment that is at least 65% humidity or more. One of the best methods to ensure perfect humidity is by using a cover of some sort, though make sure that you take it off to create some breathing room for the plant every 5-6 days.

Once your plant has been sitting for five days, give it some flowering formula. Make sure that the formula is not above 25% potency. You should also raise the light strength to 20 watts per square foot. Add a bit of grow formula for the next week to increase nutrient strength as well.
